Create an Image a Day

I received this great reminder from Geekatplay which reminded me to create an image a day:

Want to kick up your work a notch? Try this exercise: Create at least one image a day. It doesn’t matter if it’s complex or simple. Set that goal and do it for at least a month. Sure, you’ll generate a lot of junk, but you’ll also have a lot more good art than if you were to pour everything into one image a month. And you’ll learn more about your craft too. If the experiment works, keep on doing it.

This is the main reason I set up this blog, just to get my ideas together, to play, experiment and render without any pressures. It does not matter if it is totally rubbish. The important thing is I just do it. This also goes for my modelling too. I just want to collect together my ideas every day and practise. This blog is a record of my journey.

I only had time to do a quick experiment with SSS today:

And one to show the effect on the ears:

Bump is a little too strong but the general idea is good. 🙂

Daz Fanbois

Hmmmm…. I do not know what to make of this post to the Daz 3D forum:

While I can’t totally agree with the more you spend the more you get thing, I can tell you that site participation, willingness to help others, and throwing all the support you can behind the company is something I’ve found the very kind folks behind the scenes at Daz really notice…. and such things can bring you rewards you never dreamed of. I know, because it happened to me. Happy Anniversary to the Platinum Club from one of your biggest supporters. I am eternally grateful for the support and rewards I have recieved!

Update: The forum has become an archive due to their new site. The post is now here:

Could this explain the staunch fanbois and the unjust treatment of members over there? I do not know… hmmmm

* bold type is mine to emphasis the words that are making me think something is not quite all it seems to be in the Daz 3D forum at the moment.
